What is White Squirrel Weekend?
White Squirrel Weekend is a free event produced by Heart of Brevard that features a local food, retail and nonprofit vendors, and live music-all held Memorial Day weekend.
The weekend will kick off downtown on Friday evening and run through Sunday evening in the heart of downtown. In addition to the live music, the weekend event features a smattering of delicious local food vendors and a beer garden featuring all of Brevard’s local craft breweries and wine. Craft, artisan and nonprofit vendors add to the weekend’s street offerings.
When is White Squirrel Weekend?
White Squirrel Weekend will be held on Memorial Day Weekend, Friday, May 24th through Sunday May 26th, 2024.
Where is White Squirrel Weekend?
White Squirrel Weekend will be held in downtown Brevard. Visitors are encouraged to peruse a wide array of retail and food street vendors, visit participating Heart of Brevard galleries, studios and businesses and enjoy the live music on the E. Main Street Stage and at other downtown locales.

Where do I park for White Squirrel Weekend?
Please see the list of available parking locations to help you out as you make your arrival plans. All locations are in Brevard, NC 28712.
W. Main St. Parking Lot (just past 217 W. Main, on the corner of W. Main St. and England St.)
390 Railroad Ave. (The Depot Parking Lot)
101 W. Jordan St. (Behind the old PNC Bank)
90 S. Caldwell St. (In front of the old PNC Bank)
212 S. Gaston St. (Transylvania County Library parking lot)
106 E. Morgan St. (Transylvania Public Health parking lot)
94 Gaston St. (1st Baptist Church parking lot, PAY LOT)
HANDICAPPED PARKING
A limited number of handicapped parking spaces are available upon request. Please reach out to the HOB office by Wednesday, May 22nd to reserve your spot. Email requests to [email protected].
BIKING
Enjoy free bike parking at Earth Mountain Bicycle, located at 66 East Main Street on Saturday and Sunday from 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM. Bring your own lock for convenient and secure parking while you explore the event. Happy riding and enjoy the festivities!
Are there any all-ages areas or activities for younger kids?
Bring your family to White Squirrel Weekend and experience the FAMILY FUN ZONE for an exciting weekend packed with activities! Join us on Broad Street and West Jordan Street on both Saturday and Sunday. In addition to the main attractions at the FAMILY FUN ZONE, there are family offerings throughout the event footprint to explore as well. Don’t miss out on the fun!

Can I bring my pet to White Squirrel Weekend?
In accordance with local ordinances, pets are not allowed at special events held in the City of Brevard. Service animals are permitted as required by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). This policy is in place to ensure the safety and enjoyment of all event attendees. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in keeping our events safe and accessible to all members of our community.
When does the Beer Garden open?
Beer Garden Hours:
- Friday: 5:30 PM – 1:00 AM
- Saturday: 12:00 PM – 10:00 PM
- Sunday: 1:00 PM – 9:00 PM

- Oskar Blues Brewing
- Brevard Brewing
- Native Spirits Whisky
- Wine and Seltzer are also available (Gluten Free options)
Payments:
- Cash and cards are accepted in the White Squirrel Beer Garden.
Are there any requirements to purchase beverages?
- Wristbands are required for visitors who plan to enjoy beverages from the White Squirrel Beer Garden or from any participating downtown businesses in The District.
- All attendees must provide a valid form of identification for wristband purchase. Accepted IDs include a driver’s license, special identification card, military identification card, or passport. No ID, no sale, no exceptions.

- Courthouse (Saturday and Sunday)
- Corner of Caldwell and West Main (Saturday and Sunday)
Wristband Pricing:
- Wristbands cost $3 and are valid for the entire weekend if not removed. Cash and credit cards are accepted.
The District To-Go Beverage Policy:
- Visitors can purchase beverages from any licensed and participating business in The District and walk anywhere within the event footprint.
- All visitors who wish to leave a business with an alcoholic beverage must have a White Squirrel Weekend Wristband and a Social District Sticker with the business name, date, and time of purchase. No exceptions!
- On-premise service within a business does not require a wristband for enjoyment.
What waste services are provided during White Squirrel Weekend?
The Clean Team will provide trash, recycling, and compost bins, funded by Heart of Brevard to reduce the environmental impact of events on Mother Earth!

What goes in the blue recycling bin? Items for the blue recycling bin include:
- Plastic bottles
- Glass bottles
- Aluminum/metal cans
- Plastic, paper, cardboard
What goes in the black landfill bin?
Items for the black landfill bin include:
- Styrofoam
- Plastic bags
- Diapers
- Non-compostable straws
- Other non-recyclable/non-compostable items
Why is correct sorting important?
Proper sorting reduces landfill use, promotes recycling and composting, and supports our environmental goals.
Where are the bins located?
Bins are placed throughout the event area for easy access.
