Our region has faced unimaginable circumstances in the wake of Hurricane Helene, but whatโs become clear is that ๐๐ฒ ๐ป๐ฒ๐ฒ๐ฑ ๐ฒ๐ฎ๐ฐ๐ต ๐ผ๐๐ต๐ฒ๐ฟ and our community is ๐๐๐ฟ๐ผ๐ป๐ด.
That said, ๐๐ฎ๐น๐น๐ผ๐๐ฒ๐ฒ๐ป๐ณ๐ฒ๐๐ 2024 ๐๐ถ๐น๐น ๐๐๐ถ๐น๐น ๐๐ฎ๐ธ๐ฒ ๐ฝ๐น๐ฎ๐ฐ๐ฒ ๐ผ๐ป ๐ข๐ฐ๐๐ผ๐ฏ๐ฒ๐ฟ ๐ฎ๐ฒ๐๐ต. While things may look a bit different, we want to offer a chance for Transylvania County to gather, support each other, and raise money for the ๐ง๐ฟ๐ฎ๐ป๐๐๐น๐๐ฎ๐ป๐ถ๐ฎ ๐ง๐ผ๐บ๐ผ๐ฟ๐ฟ๐ผ๐ ๐ฆ๐บ๐ฎ๐น๐น ๐๐๐๐ถ๐ป๐ฒ๐๐ ๐๐บ๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ด๐ฒ๐ป๐ฐ๐ ๐ฅ๐ฒ๐น๐ถ๐ฒ๐ณ ๐๐๐ป๐ฑ.
Halloweenfest is Brevard’s longest-running event and proof of our cityโs resiliency.
Hereโs what visitors can expect on Saturday, October 26th:
- Halloweenfest daytime activities will run from 10 am – 5 pm.ย
- We invite you to explore our Heart of Brevard businesses and shops as they will open and offer Halloweenfest specials.
- Family Fun Fest Inflatables, Hula Hoop Jam, Witchy Flash Mob, downtown trick-or-treating, and other free, family-friendly activities will continue as originally scheduled.
- As planned, we are moving forward with our Costume Contests. If you would like to participate, please register using these links:
- Halloweenfest daytime activities (ending at 5 pm) will be followed by a nighttime Community Benefit Concert beginning at 5 pm, where all proceeds will be donated to Transylvania Tomorrow.
COMMUNITY BENEFIT CONCERT FOR TRANSYLVANIA COUNTY HURRICANE RELIEF
Following our traditional Halloweenfest, we’re thrilled to introduce aย Community Benefit Concertย on the main stage featuringย The Steep Canyon Rangersย and Theย Travis Book Band! This special concert is a fundraiser in support of theย Transylvania Tomorrow Hurricane Relief Fund, with a goal to raise $500K for local businesses in need.
We’re excited to host thisย FREE Benefit Concertย to bring our community together and offer support to those affected. Donโt miss out on this incredible evening of music, unity, and giving back! Bring a chair, a friend and your dancing shoes.

Beer Garden featuring Oskar Blues Brewing and wine will be available for purchase. Local food trucks will be on-site, so come hungry!
The concert is free to attend, but donations are strongly encouraged, with plenty of opportunities to give throughout the event. Every donation will directly support Transylvania Tomorrow’s hurricane recovery efforts. If you canโt attend in person, donโt worryโweโll be live-streaming the event so you can join in from anywhere.

LEND A HAND- VOLUNTEER
We cannot pull off this community event without our awesome volunteers and we need you now, more than ever. This year’s event will close downtown streets for our annual costume and pet parades, live music, downtown trick-or-treating, and more.
Volunteer roles include assisting with event set-up, helping attendees, distributing maps and information, manning the Heart of Brevard tent, supporting vendors, helping run the Halloween Costume Contest, collecting donations, serving beer, and many other tasks.
If you’ve got it, haunt it! Volunteers are STRONGLY encouraged to dress up in costume for Halloweenfest. There will be a spooktacular prize for HOB staff’s favorite volunteer costume! HOB will provide refreshments at each shift, plus perks!
Each volunteer shift will earn perks!ย

Join in on Halloweenfest’s Witchy Flash Mob!
Prepare your broomsticks, dust off your wands, and don your most enchanting attire because Halloweenfest is brewing up something truly magical this year!
We’re summoning all witches and wizards to join a spectacular Flash Mob Dance on Saturday, October 28th! The group is performing at 12:30pm and 1pm during the event.
Share the Magic.ย Spread the word among your fellow witches and wizards. The more magical beings we have, the more fun will be had!

Halloween Costume Competition and Parade
We can’t wait for our Annual Costume Competition and Parade at this year’s Halloweenfest!ย
Competition Rules:
1. Preregistration is required to participate.
2.ย Complete and submit the entry form by NOONย on October 23rd.
3. Arrive at the MAIN STAGE ย (147 E. Main Street) at 11am on October 26th to check-in.ย You’ll then get to strut your stuff before the judges before taking a loop around the festival area in a fun parade.ย Parade Route coming soon.
Competition Categories:
- Best Character (Characters from TV Shows, Movies, Books, Comics, etc.)
- Best Family/Group (2 or More People)
- Best DIY Costume
- Best Monster (Vampires, Mummies, Witches, etc.)
- Best in Show
Competition Prizes
A 1st, 2nd and 3rd Place winner will be selected in each category. One contestant will be tapped as Best in Show and will win a fangtastic prize!

Pet Parade and Costume Contest

Our furry, and not so furry, friends love Halloween too! Sign your pet up to participate in this year’s Pet Parade and Costume Contest. Learn more below.
HOW TO PARTICIPATE:
- Sign up to participate by October 23rd at NOON.
- Create an awesome costume for your furry (or not so furry) friend. Human costumes are encouraged too!
- Meet at the Silvermont Mansion parking lot (364 E. Main Street) at 1:30 pm on October 26th. Participants may park here during the event.
- At 1:45 pm, strut your stuff with the other participants up to Earth Mountain Bicycle (44 E. Maint Street) for the judging and a chance to win awesome prizes.
- Judging begins promptly at 2pm, but we’d suggest getting there a little earlier if you aren’t participating in the parade. Pets aren’t always as patient as us humans, and the judging may start a few minutes early.
- After enjoying HOBโs Halloweenfest, head to The Grateful Dog where you can use your $2 participant coupon for a treat for your pet.
Transylvania Heritage Museum Ghost Story Tours
October 26th, 4:30pm and 6pm
Tours depart from the Transylvania Heritage Museum at 189 West Main Street at 4:30 and 6:00 p.m. Reservations are required as space is limited. Families with small children are asked to attend the 4:30 tour. The cost is $10 per person; children 12 and under are free with a paying adult.
