What is Brevard Plein Air

Brevard Plein Air Festival is a vibrant,  painting event, celebrating art, and is held in the heart of historic Downtown Brevard.

Produced by Heart of Brevard, an organization dedicated to revitalizing our downtown through design, economic improvements, and cultural initiatives, and supported by Hub for the Arts, the festival transforms our bustling downtown community into a lively hub for creativity.

Each year, thirty talented artists from across the United States gather to paint en plein air throughout Transylvania County and Downtown Brevard. Their best works are showcased at the Patron’s Preview Party, hosted at the newly renovated Trust Center, offering art enthusiasts and collectors a first glimpse of these exquisite pieces.

Brevard Plein Air is also held in conjunction with the Annual Makers Market, a downtown street festival featuring fine art vendors, local makers, food vendors, and more!

The event celebrates the tradition of outdoor painting by welcoming artists from across the region to share their talents and the beauty of downtown Brevard and surrounding areas.

More details on the event are coming soon. This webpage will be regularly updated leading up to the event so check back for more details.

Makers Market Street Festival Live Music & Entertainment

Sarah Siskind 12:30PM - 2:00PM

Born and raised in Winston-Salem, NC, Sarah Siskind built her career as a professional Singer-Songwriter in Nashville, TN.

Grammy-nominated, with 40+ songs in network TV shows, with songs recorded by Wynonna, Alison Krauss, Randy Travis, and more, she relocated to Brevard, NC for a simpler way of life.

She credits her arts-rich childhood for her creative advancement and wants to provide a similar platform for her young children. Out of that sparked the idea for her budding creative arts organization, Carolina Creative Arts Center, a Creative Hub where children, youth, and adults can cultivate and grow their expression through arts.

Kevin Daniel 3:00PM - 5:00PM

A dynamic performer, playing 100-150 shows per year, Kevin Daniel’s music has been described as “radio and TV ready with enough darkness creeping in around the edges to appeal to fans of Jason Isbell & Langhorne Slim.” On his two early EPs, his 2019 debut album Things I Don’t See, and his 2021 follow-up, Been Here Before, Daniel showcases a masterful ability as a songwriter to seamlessly incorporate bits of rock, soul, country, blues, roots and Appalachia into thoughtful examination of pain and awakenings, visceral and spiritual. A big-voiced crooner with a heart of gold, Kevin strikes a chord with “his raw and soulful, Chris Stapleton-esque timbre.” [Music Connection] His latest release, ‘The Life & Adventures of Kevin Daniel’ is out now on Organic Records.

LEAF Easel Rider 11:00AM - 5:00PM

Easel Rider – Asheville’s Mobile Art Lab – will be on site with free crafts! The Easel Rider helps boost access to public art by providing interactive hands-on activities and inviting the WNC community to experience creation on the go!

Featured Artist: Kyle Buckland

Kyle’s style of painting is deeply rooted in the fundamental philosophies of Impressionism. His work has been featured in Plein Air Magazine on multiple occasions and he is a resident artist at the William King Museum’s Artlab. His work is represented in hundreds of private, public, and corporate collections around the world, and in 2021 he was inducted into the prestigious Plein Air Painters of the Southeast.
