Our 4th annual Art Is In the Air Festival is an immersive four-day, open enrollment plein air painting event in the beautiful mountainous area surrounding the town of Brevard, NC.
Deriving from the French phrase “en plein air,” which means in plain air or outside, it is also tied to the painting method from the same name, opting for making art entirely outside rather than inside a studio.

This event welcomes artists from across the region to share their talents and the beauty of historic downtown Brevard and surrounding areas. At the end of the weekend, the works created will be sold at the event’s Wet Paint Show and Sale to support Heart of Brevard. Visitors are invited to check out artists at work and shop at the Wet Paint Show and Sale.

We’re hosting a fall Makers’ Market Street Festival as part of our annual Brevard Plein Air Festival with food vendors, live music, and incredible craft and artistry available to purchase. This curated market celebrates our local creators and runs alongside the Brevard Plein Air Wet Paint Show & Sale, featuring original artwork from the 30 participating artists. Visitors will also have the opportunity to explore our Makers’ Market and the Wet Paint Sale and discover handcrafted items from local artisans.

The Brevard Plein Air Festival stands as a testament to our commitment to fostering a vibrant arts community and celebrating the cultural richness of Downtown Brevard. Your contribution enables us to implement innovative marketing strategies, promotions, and engaging signature events that further promote our shared goals.

Tickets included as a part of a donation or corporate sponsorship can not be applied toward a purchase.

Payment by check is welcome; all online fees include a 5% convenience/service fee.

Kyle’s style of painting is deeply rooted in the fundamental philosophies of Impressionism. His work has been featured in Plein Air Magazine on multiple occasions and he is a resident artist at the William King Museum’s Artlab. Kyle’s work is represented in hundreds of private, public, and corporate collections around the world. In 2021, he was inducted into the prestigious Plein Air Painters of the Southeast.
