Christmas by the Campfire – December 4, 2010

The downtown streets of Brevard are transformed into a magical world of holiday cheer during the Heart of Brevard’s 23rd Annual Twilight Tour.

Our Twilight Tour takes a turn back in time…join us for a  “Christmas by the Campfire”…celebrating mountain traditions.

Instead of streets lined with vendors, each downtown block hosts an open campfire. This is a cozy place to huddle, in between “touring” the different downtown shops and restaurants for their holiday specials.

Around each campfire there are place to sit and warm up. You can participate in a more traditional activity like marshmallow roasting, story telling, ornament making, singing, or watching a children’s Christmas movie. At each campfire there will also be some refreshments to help warm your toes.

The Courthouse lawn will be sparkling with lights. The sidewalks will glow in the light of 1000 luminaries, and school children and community choir musicians will gather at the courthouse gazebo to fill the evening air with holiday song.

Don’t forget to enjoy the courthouse lights and Christmas tree decorations at the Transylvania County Courthouse. Of course, you can’t miss the long-awaited visit with Santa Claus at My Favorite Season.
