Halloweenfest

Halloweenfest In Transylvania County!
October 27, 2007

Join us next time...October 25, 2008

The only other Transylvania is in Romania, so where else would you want to honor Halloween, but with us!?

Started by the Chamber of Commerce in 1982, Halloweenfest is celebrating its 25th year.

If baking is more your speed, enter the Proper Pot Apple/Pumpkin Bake-off and see who captures the judges’ favor.

In the morning our Brevard Police Department also sponsors a Bicycle Rodeo and provides free helmets.

The street festival begins at 10:00am. You’ll find plenty of fun for the family: Tiny Tot Pumpkin Bowl, Cookie Decorating, The Little Blue Choo, Inflatables, Pisgah Climbing Wall, Ghoulish Golf, & Spooky Hay Maze.

Families can also compete in the Costume Parade. Costume judging categories include: Best Infant, Best Comic Character, & Best Storybook Character.

If you haven’t gotten enough of your sweets, join in the Downtown Trick or Treat. Walk by the downtown businesses and street vendors and receive your candies and treats.

The Brevard Rotary Club's annual "Flight of the Vampire" 5K Race ends the day at dusk with a run. Download a registration form at Brevard Rotary - The Flight of the Vampire 5K Run & Fun Walk

No festival would be complete without music. And Brevard offers some of the best in mountain music when the downtown hosts the Old Time Music Competition.  Now in its 12th year, this competition attracts musicians as far as Florida who come not only to compete, but to share with their fellow musicians a musical form that will not be forgotten.
