The Assault on the Carolinas is the annual fundraiser for the Pisgah Forest Rotary Club. They offer a 100K, 60K, and 40K rides. The 100K goes through North Carolina and South Carolina mountains and valleys. This is a fully supported ride with 4 well-stocked rest stops, and a challenging 6 mile climb up Ceasar’s Head. The 60 and 40K go through the river valleys of scenic Transylvania County.

Voted one of the Southeast Tourism Society’s Top 20 Events in May 2009, White Squirrel Festival is host to an opening “Memorial Day Parade,” 5K/10K foot race, White Squirrel Photo Contest, guided tours, and plenty of nutty fun for the entire family.
You won’t want to miss the 14 free, live concerts – headlined this past year by Acoustic Syndicate, Sol Driven Train, Jill Andrews, and Town Mountain!
6th Annual Squirrel Box Derby – May 26-27, 2012 (Races begin at 1:30pm). Derby applications ready mid February.
This gravity race is the only legal opportunity in Brevard where you can try to break the speed limit down Jailhouse Hill! All vehicles are hand built and decorated to please the crowd, as well as designed for speed. Contestants compete for trophies. In addition, businesses fight to win the cherished Golden Nut Trophy!
Come catch the hometown spirit – Both our Fourth of July Celebration and Fireworks Show will take place on Wednesday, July 4th, 2012! Vendor applications ready mid April.
Activities include: 5K/10K Firecracker Run, Fine Arts & Craft Showcase, Classic Automobile Show, Old Time Fair, day-long music, Kids’ Bike Parade, inflatables, face painting, children’s activities and end the day with the wonderful July 4th Fireworks Extravaganza!

Have you ever wondered what it is like to Race in a Grand Tour? Let us take you on a tour of all the classic trails in Pisgah National Forest. Mountain bike through rhododendron tunnel trails you’ve only seen in magazines. Shoot hair raising descents over rocks and roots clinging to the mountain side. Feel the cool mountain air as you line up against some of the best riders in the country. Share stories of the day with your new comrades as you recover and prepare for the next day’s adventure.
