Voted one of the Southeast Tourism Society’s Top 20 Events in May 2009, White Squirrel Festival is host to an opening “Memorial Day Parade,” 5K/10K foot race, White Squirrel Photo Contest, white squirrel tours, and plenty of nutty fun for the entire family.
You won’t want to miss the 14 free, live concerts – headlined this year by Firecracker Jazz Band and the Jeff Sipe Group with special guest Ike Stubblefield!
6th Annual Squirrel Box Derby – May 26-27, 2012 (Races begin at 1:30pm). Derby applications ready early April. Safety guidelines ready now!
This gravity race is the only legal opportunity in Brevard where you can try to break the speed limit down Jailhouse Hill! All vehicles are hand built and decorated to please the crowd, as well as designed for speed. Contestants compete for trophies. In addition, businesses fight to win the cherished Golden Nut Trophy!
Come catch the hometown spirit – Both our Fourth of July Celebration and Fireworks Show will take place on Wednesday, July 4th, 2012! Vendor applications ready mid April.

No festival would be complete without music. And Brevard offers some of the best in mountain music when the downtown hosts the Old Time Music Competition. This competition attracts musicians as far as Florida who come not only to compete, but to share with their fellow musicians a musical form that will not be forgotten. Musicians can compete in several categories!
